Technical Requirements for «A» Class

Pre-CHICKS Girls and Boys (Born 2012 or later) Free Skating only 
Duration of the Program: 2:00 min. ±10 sec. 
A well balanced Free Skating program must contain:

  • maximum of four (4) jump elements;
  • maximum of two (2) jump combinations (NB! A jump combination can contain only two (2) jumps. A jump combination containing three (3) jumps is NOT permitted); A jump sequence is not allowed.
  • 1A and double (2) jumps are not allowed.
  • maximum of two (2) spins of a different nature; d) one (1) step sequence fully utilizing the ice surface. The element will receive value and be evaluated by the judges in GOE.

CHICKS Girls and Boys (Born 2010 or later) Free Skating only 
Duration of the Program: 2:00 min. ±10 sec. 
A well balanced Free Skating program must contain:

  • maximum of four (4) jump elements;
  • maximum of two (2) jump combinations (NB! A jump combination can contain only two (2) jumps. A jump combination containing three (3) jumps is NOT permitted); A jump sequence is not allowed.

  • maximum of two (2) jump combinations or sequences (NB! A jump combination can contain only two (2) jumps. A jump sequence consists of 2 (two) jumps of any number of revolutions, beginning with any listed jump, immediately followed by an Axel type jump with a direct step from the landing curve of the first jump to the take-off curve of the Axel jump. A jump combination containing three (3) jumps is NOT permitted);
  • maximum of two (2) spins of a different nature (minimum of 4 revolutions each);
  • one (1) step sequence fully utilizing the ice surface. The element will receive value and be evaluated by the judges in GOE.

CUBS Girls and Boys (Born 2008 or later) Free Skating only 
Duration of the Program: 2:30 min. ±10 sec. 
A well balanced Free Skating program must contain:

  • maximum of four (4) jump elements (one of which must be an Axel-type jump);
  • maximum of two (2) jump combinations or sequences (NB! A jump combination can contain only two (2) jumps. A jump combination containing three (3) jumps is NOT permitted); A jump sequence consists of 2 (two) jumps of any number of revolutions, beginning with any listed jump, immediately followed by an Axel type jump with a direct step from the landing curve of the first jump to the take-off curve of the Axel jump.
  • maximum of two (2) spins of a different nature, there must be one (1) spin combination with (minimum three (3) revolutions on each foot) or without change of foot (minimum five (6) revolutions in total) and one spin with no change of position and with change of foot (minimum three (3) revolution on each foot) or without change of foot (minimum of six (6) revolutions in total). Flying entry is allowed.
  • one step sequence fully utilizing the ice surface.

NB! Additional information

  • In all categories listed above the Program Components are only judged in: 
    — Skating Skills
    — Performance
  • The Factor of the Program Components is 2.5
  • In all elements which are subject to Levels, only features up to Level 2 will be counted. Any additional features will not count for Level requirements and will be ignored by the Technical Panel.
  • Evaluation is in accordance with ISU Communication No.2186 (or any update of these Communications). No jump with the same name can be executed more than twice including Axel-type jumps.
  • Time violation — 0.5 point deduction for up to every 5 seconds in excess. 
    Interruption — 0.5 point deduction.
    Falls — 0.5 point deduction for every fall.
  • In Free Skating a second-half bonus is NOT calculated.
  • Warm-up groups can be up to ten (10) Skaters.
  • Protests may be lodged provided that they are not forbidden by this or another Rule and must be filed with the Referee in writing within the stated time limit (ISU Rule 123). At the same time 50 EUR or other convertible currency to the same value must be deposited with the Referee.
  • Skaters are allowed to participate in a higher category if their skills meet the technical requirements of that category.
  • There may be up to 10 skaters in one warm-up group.
  • Call to start is 30 sec. for all skaters.

Technical Requirements for «B» Class

Pre-CHICKS B Girls and Boys (Born 2013 or later)
Free Skating 2 min. ±10 sec.

  • maximum of four (4) jump elements;
  • maximum of one (2) jump combinations or sequences (NB! A jump combination can contain only two (2) jumps. A jump combination containing three (3) jumps is NOT permitted);
  • maximum of two (2) spins of a different nature (minimum of 3 revolutions each);
  • one (1) step sequence;
  • Axel, Lutz, Flip and double (2) jumps are NOT permitted.
  • Waltz jump is allowed in Pre- Chicks B 2013 and younger category and has a value 0.20

Pre-CHICKS B Girls and Boys (Born 2012 or later)
Free Skating 2 min. ±10 sec.

  • maximum of four (4) jump elements;
  • maximum of one (2) jump combinations or sequences (NB! A jump combination can contain only two (2) jumps. A jump combination containing three (3) jumps is NOT permitted);
  • maximum of two (2) spins of a different nature (minimum of 3 revolutions each);
  • one (1) step sequence;
  • Axel, Lutz, Flip and double (2) jumps are NOT permitted.

CUBS B Girls and Boys (Born 2008 or later)
Free Skating 2 min., 30 sec. ±10 sec.

  • maximum of four (4) jump elements;
  • at least one (1) and maximum two (2) jump combinations or jump sequence. Jump combinations may consist of 2 jumps only. Combinations of 3 jumps are not allowed. A jump sequence consists of 2 (two) jumps of any number of revolutions, beginning with any listed jump, immediately followed by an Axel type jump with a direct step from the landing curve of the first jump to the take-off curve of the Axel jump.
  • maximum of two (2) spins of a different nature (minimum of three (3) revolutions);
  • one step sequence;
  • Axel Paulsen and one (1) double jump are allowed no more than two (2) times. 2F and 2Lz - are not allowed in this category.

SPRINGS B Girls and Boys (Born 2006 or later) 
Free Skating 2 min., 30 sec. ±10 sec.

  • maximum of four (4) jump elements (one of which must be an Axel type jump);
  • maximum of two (2) jump combinations or jump sequences. only one (1) jump combination may consist of three (3) jumps.
  • A jump sequence consists of 2 (two) jumps of any number of revolutions, beginning with any listed jump, immediately followed by an Axel type jump with a direct step from the landing curve of the first jump to the take-off curve of the Axel jump.
  • maximum of three (3) spins of a different nature (minimum of three (3) revolutions);
  • one step sequence;
  • Maximum 2 (two) different double jumps are permitted and they cannot be repeated more than twice. 2A and triple jumps are not allowed. .

NOVICE B Girls and Boys (10 to 15 years old before July 1st preceding the event) 
Free Skating 3 min. ±10 sec.

  • maximum of 5 jump elements (girls and boys) one of which must be an Axel type jump;
  • there may be up to two (2) jump combinations or sequences. A jump combination can contain only two (2) jumps.
  • A jump sequence consists of 2 (two) jumps of any number of revolutions, beginnin with any listed jump, immediately followed by an Axel type jump with a direct step from the landing curve of the first jump to the take-off curve of the Axel jump.
  • there must be a maximum of three (3) spins of a different nature, one of which must be a spin combination (minimum of ten (10) revolutions in total), one a flying spin or a spin with a flying entrance (minimum of five (5) revolutions in total) and one spin is optional (minimum of five (5) revolutions);
  • one step sequence.
  • 2A and triple jumps are not allowed

PRE-YOUNG Girls and Boys Born 2011 and younger 
Free Program: 2 min. ±10 sec

  • Maximum four (4) jump elements 
    — maximum two (2) jump combinations. Jump sequences are not allowed 
    — a jump combination may consist of only two (2) jumps 
  • Maximum two (2) spins of different nature.
  • One step sequence (2/3 cover of the ice), (straight line, circular or serpentine).
  • Axel, 1Lz and 1F and double jumps are NOT allowed!
  • Any jump with the same name may be executed ONLY TWICE.

PRE-YOUNG Girls and Boys Born 2009 and younger 
Free Program: 2 min. ±10 sec

  • Maximum four (4) jump elements 
    — maximum two (2) jump combinations. Jump sequences are not allowed 
    — a jump combination may consist of only two (2) jumps 
  • Maximum two (2) spins of different nature.
  • One step sequence (2/3 cover of the ice), (straight line, circular or serpentine).
  • Axel and double jumps are NOT allowed!
  • Any jump with the same name may be executed ONLY TWICE

PRE-YOUNG Girls and Boys Born 2007/2008 
Free program: 2 min. ±10 sec

  • Maximum four (4) jump elements 
    — maximum two (2) jump combinations. Jump sequences are not allowed 
    — a jump combination may consist of only two (2) jumps 
  • Maximum two (2) spins of different nature.
  • One step sequence (2/3 cover of the ice), (straight line, circular or serpentine).
  • Axel and double jumps are NOT allowed!
  • Any jump with the same name may be executed ONLY TWICE

YOUNG Girls and Boys Born 2003-2006
Free Program: 2.30 min (±10 sec)

  • Maximum five (5) jump elements 
    — maximum three (3) jump combinations or jump sequences 
    — a jump combination may consist of only two (2) jumps 
    — A jump sequence consists of 2 (two) jumps of any number of revolutions, beginning with any listed jump, immediately followed by an Axel type jump with a direct step from the landing curve of the first jump to the take-off curve of the Axel jump.
  • Maximum two (2) spins of different nature.
  • One step sequence (2/3 cover of the ice), (straight line, circular or serpentine).
  • Axel and one (1) double jump are allowed.
  • Any jump with the same name may be executed ONLY TWICE.

YOUNG (boys and girls) Born 1993-2002 
Free Program: 2.30 min. ±10 sec

  • Maximum five (5) jump elements 
    — maximum three (3) jump combinations or jump sequences 
    — a jump combination may consist of only two (2) jumps 
    — A jump sequence consists of 2 (two) jumps of any number of revolutions, beginning with any listed jump, immediately followed by an Axel type jump with a direct step from the landing curve of the first jump to the take-off curve of the Axel jump.
  • Maximum two (2) spins of different nature.
  • One step sequence (2/3 cover of the ice), (straight line, circular or serpentine).
  • Axel and one (1) double jump are allowed.
  • Any jump with the same name may be executed ONLY TWICE.

Beginner A 2012/2013; 2010/2011; 2008/2009; 2005/2006/2007.

  1. Min. 4 outside forward edges + (Basic stroking forward) + * classic spiral on the circle on outside edge (min. 3 sec.)
  2. Min. 4 inside forward edges + (Basic stroking forward) + * classic spiral on the circle on inside edge (min. 3 sec.)
  3. (Basic stroking forward +) 3-4 Crossovers forward (counter clockwise)+* 4-5 Mohawks inside forward-inside backward
  4. 3-4 Crossovers backward (counter clockwise) + Waltz threeturn+* waltz jump (two repetitions)
  5. 3-4 Crossovers forward (clockwise)+* 4-5 Mohawks inside forward-inside backward
  6. 3-4 Crossovers backward (clockwise)+ USp min. 3 revolutions (*with crossed feet)

Recommended pattern for Beginners A category:

Beginner B 2014 and younger

  1. Basic stroking forward + 5 swizzles forward.
  2. Basic stroking forward + stork
  3. Basic stroking forward + dip
  4. Basic stroking forward + stop
  5. Pivot 3 revolutions

Beginners B 2014; 2012/2013; 2010/2011; 2008/2009; 2005/2006/2007.

  1. Basic stroking forward + 5 swizzles forward + ½ turn jump+ 5 swizzles back
  2. Basic stroking forward + bunny hop 3x + *lunge forward (min. 3 sec.)
  3. Basic stroking forward + stork/ *classic spiral (min. 3 sec.)
  4. Basic stroking forward + dip / *pistol squat (min. 3 sec.)
  5. Basic stroking forward + stop + pivot + *one/two foot spin, Exit

Recommended pattern for Beginners B category:

Each elements combination will be named as StSq and will have a number from 1 to 5 (7).  Base value of each StSqB is 1.5. If combination contains element marked
with a „*“ value will be 1.8 and elements combination will be named as StSq1. All elements combinations will be judged by judges using GOE (-3,-2,-1, 0,+1,+2,+3).
There will be no any deduction. But if in the combination elements without „*“  are not done or done less times/seconds than prescribed GOE can not be higher than „-3“.
For Beginner B programm components will have Skating Skills only. For categories Beginners A programm components will have Skating Skills and Transitions/Linking
Footwork/Movements (Factor 1.6). Coach can be near competitor on ice during competition (coach is not allowed to show an element during competition). Competitor
starts combination from Start Position on the ice rink and should cover 2/3 of the ice rink. All elements should be followed immediately. Competitor have an opportunity
to demonstrate one combination twice if it was not successful from the first attempt.
Warm-up is 5 minutes. Warm up groups are up to 10 skaters. After warm-up skaters can use the mixed zone. Background music will be provided by the organizer.
